About Our Family Research
The Wroten family of Mississippi has a long and rich history. In 1717 the first recorded ancestor, George Boone III, came to America from Ireland. According to records he had a son named Squire Boone who had a son named Israel, the brother of the famous Daneil. Israel produced a son named Jonathan who had a daughter named Eleanor. Eleanor married Jeremiah Clark and had a son named Jehu, the brother of Reverend Nathan L.Clark. Jehu had a daughter named Louisa Mariah Clark who married Zack Wroten which begins the Wroten family of Decatur, Mississippi.
Louisa and Zack had four children; Mary, Willie,Clark and Andrew Jackson Wroten. Andrew[1860-1945] married Susan Emma Crawford[1866-1917]in 1883. According to family, they rode horseback from Decatur to Union to get married. They had 14 children and 37 grandchildren. Susan died young and left two small girls at home with her husband as well as two daughters and five sons.
