About Our Family Research

My name is Lori Denise Yeilding and I was born and raised in San Jose, California along with my brother, William Richard Yeilding, Jr. (living) and my sister, Joyce Diane Yeilding Hansen(deceased). My father (a meticulous Virgo), William Richard Yeilding (deceased) was born in Walla Walla, Washington and raised in Casper, Wyoming until the age of 18. After high school he became a professional musician, playing tenor sax and clarinet. His first gig was with a band on cruise ships traveling to Asia in the early 40s. He auditioned for the famous Russ Morgan band in Hollywood in the mid 40s and was offered a job but declined due to family obligations. In the 50s he joined Hewlett Packard and became a member of the San Jose Musicians Union Local 47 and continued to play in bands on the side until his death in 1970. My father was also a gifted sketch artist but I only inherited his musical talent.

He met and married my mother (a patient and sensitive Pisces), Virginia Sinibaldi (actual biological surnmame: Wesserling)in Northern California. My mother, of German and Polish descent, was born in Hamtramack, Michigan. Hamtramack was the second largest melting pot of Polish and Germans at the turn-of-the-century. Her paternal grandfather was born in Hamburg, Germany. Her maternal grandmother was from Poland.

Apparently, the Yeildings (Gaelic) hailed from County Clare, Ireland but their real origin was of Welsh descent--Welshmen serving the King's army and then acquiring land in Ireland upon completion of military service.
