About Our Family Research


Our family belongs to the Kurdish Zarrinkafsch clan seated at Sanandaj and the families of Zarrinnaal and Zarrinkafsch-Bahman, Zarrinkafsh and Afshartus belong to this house. These lines were close related by several intermarriages to the Qajar (Kadjar) Royal and Imperial House of Persia (Iran).

    This photo shows my maternal great grandmother, my own grandmother's mother Princess Malekeh Afagh Khanoum. She was the daughter of Prince Bahman Mirza, one of Crownprince Abbas Mirza's sons.

    This photo shows my maternal great-great grandfather Prince Bahman Mirza Qajar in Shusha, Karabbagh in 1853. He was the 4th son of Abbas Mirza Nayeb os-Soltaneh, Fath Ali Shah Qajar's son and crown prince.

    This photo shows my paternal great-great grandfather the Kurdish Lord Agha Mirza Zaman Kordestani, Khan of the Zarrinnaal. He wears a typical tribal headgear and a royal robe of honour.
  • Pari Soltan Khanoum Pir-Bastami (25 KB)
    This photo shows Pari Soltan Khanoum Pir-Bastami, the wife of Mirza Zaman Khan and my paternal great-great grandmother. She was the daughter of Mohammad Hossein Khan, son of Dust Ali Khan Moayyer ol-Mamalek. This picture was taken by her paternal cousin Ali Khan Wali in 1870.

    This photo shows my paternal great grandfather Lord Agha Mirza Ali Akbar Khan Zarrinnal, titled Nasr-e Lashgar in 1910. He was Mirza Zaman Khan and Pari Soltan Khanoums eldest son.
