The Zerbel genealogy extends thus far to Friedrich and Elizabeth Dash (Dersh in Germany) Zerbel (Zirbel in Pommern), who were both born in Germany (Friedrich in Prussia) and immigrated to the United States during the latter part the 19th century. Frederick Wilhelm Zerbel(or Friedrich) immigrated with his parents, Friedrich and Sophia (Wenzel) Zerbel from Pinnow, Kreis Regenwalde, Pommern in 1872. Elizabeth [Dash] Zerbel immigrated with her parents Harmon & Elizabeth [Kappler] Dash in 1852 from the Driesbach Kuhrhessen region in Germany to Elba, New York. Frederick (formerly Friedrich, son of Friedrich & Sophia) married Elizabeth Dash in 1875 and both subsequently moved to Shultz, Michigan in 1871, where they lived the rest of their lives. Frederick died in 1907 and Elizabeth died in 1920.
