| About Our Family Research |
|
We have been able to trace several lines back into the 1800s. However it has been like looking for a needle in a haystack after that. The Zilm line came from Germany, actually Mecklinberg. However port records are not available from the port GF sailed from. The Haller line is traced back to a George F. haller born abt 1820 in New York, New York. It is believed his ancestors came from Wurtenberg, Germany. The Townsend line came from England abt 1838. Other lines which we have not been able to find any info about are Stickles and Murray. There are quite a number of Zilms in the US and Canada as well as Australia. We do not know if there is any family connections as we have not found a common ancestor of any outside of our own family members.
