The Carroll family of Patterson, N.J. was, and is a very large brance of the Carroll family of Ely O'Carroll territory, Laois, Queens county, Ireland,(Civil Parish of Kildellig, Province of Leinster, Barony of Clarmallagh.)I would like to share and exchange information on the Carrolls with other members of this family. My Father, Charles Carroll was born in Patterson N.J.in 1909. He was the son of Margaret Fagan, and Richard Carroll. Richard was born to Mary Ashley Carroll and Michael Carroll in Ireland in 1850 in or around Borris-in-Ossory. Michael and Mary came to Patterson,N.J.in 1867. They had seven children, Maria, Michael, Thomas, Edward Ashley, Margaret, Annie, and Richard. Michael Carroll Sr. was a tailor in Ireland, as was his son Michael. Michael Sr.'s son Richard (my Grandfather) became a saloon owner and later an assemblyman in Patterson N.J. I would like to make contact with some of my Carroll relatives.
