My Grgrandfather was Wilhelm Herman Buchalla, he was born 16 April 1871 of Gelsenkirchen, Westfalen Germany. He was christened in Evangelisch, Wickede Unna,Westfalen,Preussen Germany 30 April 1871. I was told he stowed away when he was 16 with his family, haven't found out what ship or when he came over but I will. That would have made it 1887 when he came over. I have not proven he has stowed away either. He was married 24 December 1900 to a Ida Emma Honea of Atlus Arkansas. She was born 2 July 1879. They had 3 children..William, Auguste, and Frank (my grandfather)Herman worked a coal mine called "Monkey Run" in Denning, Arkansas.I have a old picture of that coal mine also. He died at the age of 33(12 Sept 1906) of Black lung when my grandfather was 4 months old. I was told by grandfather that he was buried at Coal Hill, Arkansas next to a railroad track but haven't been able to find him yet.
