My name is Garfield (Gary) William Zoskey. My father's name was Garfield William Zoschke (Zoskey). His father was William Albert Zoschke. My great great grandfather was Charles Zoschke. His wife was Henriette Milcke. My great grandfather was Karl Henry Zoschke, born 1858. Karl and his parents came from Stolp Pommerania Prussia and migrated to Canada around 1872. Karl enlisted in Barrie Ont. and fought in the Reil Rebellion of 1885. Upon his release from the army in 1885,he married Augusta Monig whose family originally came from Essen in the Rhine Valley. In 1889 he purchased land and built a house in Tay County on the point across the bay from Midland Ontario.
Karl had a brother who remained in Pommerania. Ihave been unable to link up the family history beyond Canada. If anyone has information concerning August Zoschke, please contact me.
