This data set contains images
of the pages from the following five books:
- New World Immigrants
I
- New World Immigrants
II
- Emigrants to Pennsylvania,
1641-1819
- Immigrants to the
Middle Colonies
- Passengers to America
Each of these books is comprised
of articles that originally appeared in prominent genealogical periodicals.
Together on this data set, this collection represents nearly all of the articles
that Harold Lancour identified in his celebrated Bibliography of Ship Passenger
Lists, 1538-1825. In combination, these books reference the names of approximately
58,000 individuals who arrived in New England or the Mid-Atlantic states between
1572 and 1878. These books were all edited by Michael Tepper and provided by
the Genealogical Publishing Company.
Some of the pages in the
original books were printed sideways. To make it easier for you to read them
on your computer monitor, these pages were rotated to the upright position.
