Genealogy.com Internet Family Archives Make Actual Data Available, Not Just Links

Second Installment of Titles Offers Information on Over 12,000,000 People from Immigration Lists and Vital Records

July 11, 2000 (FREMONT, CALIFORNIA) — Genealogy.com, LLC today announced the addition of 10 more titles to its popular Internet Family Archives, making it even easier for people to find their ancestors fast on the Internet. Users of this valuable tool do not need an accompanying genealogy software application or separate viewing software—all they need is Internet access. The collection now holds a total of nearly 12 million names in 21 different compiled resources.

"By expanding our popular collection of online titles in the Internet Family Archives, we continue our stated objective of putting more and more genealogically relevant data on the Internet," said Genealogy.com Chief Executive Officer, Rob Armstrong. "We're making it easier for people to research their family history by putting actual data online, like information from immigration lists and vital records, not just links to various web sites."

Get Access Instantly

Internet Family Archives make it easier and more convenient to conduct research at home without having to spend money and time on traveling to faraway libraries and dusty government archives. The power of the Internet allows users to find ancestors fast, compared to the less efficient way of researching by searching through microfilm or reading old books. With the Internet Family Archives, research can be conducted from any computer, PC or Mac compatible, with Internet access, at any time. The Internet Family Archives are composed of a variety of family history information from marriage indexes to international records, from personal family histories to biographies. Included in this round of new titles for Internet Family Archives is the Passenger and Immigration List Index—our most popular title that will help users find arrival information from over 3 million immigrants who arrived in U.S. and Canadian ports. The collection also includes information from marriage indexes of five different states including Texas, Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey and Indiana. Now, all this research can be done in the comfort of home, 24 hours a day. With access to the Internet Family Archives, users are able to create their own personal "online data library" with records stored on Genealogy.com's secure network. The 10 new titles found on Internet Family Archives include:
