John Adams arrived in Tishomingo County Mississippi in late 1830's with wife Elizabeth (Boyd) Adams from South Carolina. They had eight children with many of the descendents still living in North East Mississippi. Other descendents are located in Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Colorado and Nebraska. Elizabeth’s parents (Samuel and Mary Ann (Thompson) Boyd moved to Monroe County, Mississippi from South Carolina in the 1840’s and still have descendents living in that area. John appears to have two brothers, James and David Adams, also living in the same area (Highland community, North and East of Bay Springs) of Tishomingo County.
