Albert Wilson Withington, son of George and Nancy Withington, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, July 7, 1850. Here he lived with his parents until he was seven years old. They then moved to Wisconsin and settled at Millville, and later moved to a farm near Woodman, where he grew to manhood. In 1888 he was united in marriage with Lydia Morris of Platteville. To this union there were born five sons: Archie, William, Roy, Clarence, and Fred; and two daughters, Gladys and Daisy.
Albert was a good father and husband, honest in dealings and successful in his undertakings. He lived a contented life, having good health until the past two months when he felt himself failing and he knew he must soon leave his family. At this time he made all plans to leave his family a home and the necessities with which to go on. September 14 he peacefully passed away at the age of 81 years, 2 months, 7 days.
Besides his wife and children he leaves to mourn his loss a little grandson, Albert, and one sister, Mrs Ella Lamberton of Mt Hope, also two daughters-in-law, Mrs. William Withington and Mrs. Fred Withington, and many good friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal Church at Mt Hope Saturday, September 16, at 2pm conducted by Rev. Perkins of Mt Hope. The body was taken to the Bethlehem Cemetery and laid to rest by his father and mother.
