Catherine F. Vogt
CASSVILLE - Catherine F. Vogt, age 79, of Cassville, died on Friday, July 27, 2007, at the Lancaster Care Center, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Sept. 7, 1927, in Cassville, the daughter of Reiner and Margaret (Dresen) Hochhausen.
Catherine graduated from Cassville High School.
She married Emil Vogt in September of 1945, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. She was a member of the St. Charles National Council of Catholic Women. Catherine worked at Rapid Die & Molding in Cassville for 36 years, while raising her six children. After retiring, she worked for the Foster Grandparent Program at Cassville Elementary School for over 10 years.
She loved flowers and working in her garden. Her home was always spotless. She was a truly dedicated mother and always put her children?s needs above her own. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her four sons, Richard (Marlene) Vogt of Prairie du Chien, David Vogt of Cassville, Lawrence (Debra) Vogt of Janesville and Kenneth Vogt of Cassville; two daughters, Karen A. (Gary) Mahr of Lancaster and Robin (Andy) Balch of Mount Horeb; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Kane of Verona; and two brothers, William (Carrie) Hochhausen and James (Janet) Hochhausen, both of Cassville.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, D.J. Heiligenthal.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at 10 a.m. at ST. CHARLES CATHOLIC CHURCH in Cassville with Father John Norder and Father William Seipp officiating. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 30, 2007, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the MARTIN FUNERAL HOME in Cassville, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday morning at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Catherine F. Vogt memorial fund has been established.
