Ramirez Pharmacy El Paso Texas 1912
|
|

The Ramirez Pharmacy was a family business for almost a century. Here is the original location in El Paso in 1912. The gentleman on the right is my great-grand father, Victor Ramirez. He took the entire family, as well as the pharmcy to Los Angeles around 1924, or '25. He was famous for his spring tonic that he concocted in his bath tub. It was mainly alcohol, and very popular during prohibition. My father sold bottles of it long after grandpa died. Victor's son, Mike, eventually took over the pharmacy. My grandma Lupe Ramirez, Victor's favorite daugher would clean out the cash register to buy new clothes. She was a snappy dresser as you can see in her picture here.
