Notes for C
OL. ISAAC WILLIAM MCQUEEN:
Carl Neal's book "The McQueen Family" wrote, "Col. Isaac McQueen bought an adjoining farm to Long Joe Wagner's on Roan Cr. where he built a large substantial home. He lived at the Wagner's while his home was being constructed. Here he met and courted his future wife. He was well to do for that time and locality and before the Civil Was had slaves to do his farm work. Col. McQueen was a very elegant dresser, he wore a high silk hat, long broadcloth coats, never wore homespun, rode the best of horses, had an ex slave Jerry to shine his boots. After his death his widow managed the farm and made a good living for her children. Col. Isaac W. McQueen and his wife, Fine Wagner had 5 children.
