AMES RUSSELL MCQUEEN:
Joyce McQueen Schellenger email info:
James enlisted in the 13th Tennessee Cavalry along with his older brothers. He had just turned 17. I am still waiting for the Nat'l Archives file. There was a slight mixup because I used Carl Neal's dates. I had to resubmit my application and expect to have the file within the next two weeks. Will send along any further information then.
Carl Neal is correct in stating James moved to Missouri then Washington state. The family moved to Caldwell Co, MO between 1867 and 1869. It appears that they moved to WA sometime after July 1888 for they are listed in the 1900 WA
Soundex as living in Clarke Co, WA. Lincoln was the last child born in MO in Jul 1888. James' wife, Emma, died 5 March 1911 in Washington.

Edward L. McQueen email info on the burial place of David McQueen:
I visited a Cemetery near Jamesport Missouri to see what we think is my great-great grandfather's grave site. On this grave site printed in a concrete wall is the name ' David McQueen Dec 23, 1852 - June 5, 1921'. The cemetery was behind the Clear Creek Church, which is South and East of Jamesport Missouri in Daviess county. There are some other relatives buried there also, but the graves are not mark anymore. I'll try to see if there is some kind of plot map for the cemetery. I think my grandfather "Jacob Sheriden McQueen" and infant sister of my father is also buried beside David.
