James' brother George C McQueen is shown on the census as having daughter Ollie M age 14 born August 1885 in Virginia and daughter? Elmer R age 12 born May 1888... this suggests that James and Mary came to Missouri after March 1884... and George and Ozina came to Missouri after August 1885... if your information is correct that James came to Missouri in 1884 it would probably have been after Stella was born and a few months old so she could have handled the journey... then perhaps the next year in late 1884 brother George and family came to Missouri and settled near James and family...

My great grandma was Emmer Right McQueen. She married James Elbert Spain. My grandmother was Verlie Victoria Spain Anderson Wisdom. My father was 2nd oldest, Gerald Elbert Anderson. The family called him stub. He was born 4-23-1927 in Halsey, Neb. He was the only child born out of Barry Co., MO. My grandmother's Bible, which I have, listed George McQueen and Evalyn Ozian Debusk as Emmer's parents. Your page has Emmer passing in Neb. I was always told she passed away 5 miles NE of Cassville, at her daughter's house, Mary Turner. Emmer has a stroke while milking a cow. I was born in 1953, it was after I was born, but I can not remember her. I do remember them saying when Emmer died she did not have a gray hair in her head. Verlie passed away 12-27-1988. I remember it well, 12-27-53 is my birthday. Gerald passed 3-2-1993. I hope we are from the same line. If you need any info I can get it from my uncle Jim, Dad's brother. He lives here in town.

Hello; Thanks for answering everyone said she went by Emmer, I don't
remember her,but I do rember Jack Anderson her 2nd husband, he was a mean
old cuss, he had a cane and would whack all of us kids with it, or trip
us. I was probably 10 when he passed. I can remember it was a big fight.
While some were at the cemetery others were going throught all of his
belongings, Jack was my grandfather Andersons brother. Yea, I am confused
too. Verlie Victory Spain was my grandmother she looked just like Emmer,
Aunt Mary Turnner who is still with us looks like Emmer too. Verlie
married Clifford Curtis Anderson I do not have their birth dates of
marrage, or death date on grandpa, but if you need them I can get them, I
could make you some photocopys of pictures of all of them and mail to ya
if you wish. I think you would enjoy the picture of Emmer, and James
Spain, and children if front of their store in Butterfield, my grandma
was probably 7 at the time and barefoot, like me you know us
hillbillies.
Would you please send me genealogy report on Emmers line, I get
confused looking at all the McQueens. I had a stroke and a brain tumor
benine thank god removed a year and half ago. so it dose not take much
to confuse me, figuring out this computer is enough, but i want to get
all the genealogy lines on my side up to date for my children to have, I
cant give them much but I can let them know where they came form, I have
almost finished with my husbands side, need sonmthing else to work on,
It is so interesting once I get started it is hard to stop, I love
history and to think of somthing that happened years ago and say my
family was alive at that time and lived through it, How in Gods name did
some of them make it? Especially the ones who traveled by wagon in the 1800
ect. I just amazes me. I plan to go to my Uncle Jims this week and go
through all of what he has anything interesting I will let you know. Thanks
for your time and listening to me ramble, thanks again opie pate
