This site is dedicated to ALL descendants of my Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandfather Robert Allsop who was born about 1756. He died 4th July 1826 aged 70 years and is buried in St. Andrews Churchyard, Hornchurch.

I started my research in 1993 with the help of my Grandfather Francis E. Allsopp 1906 - 2008. To date I have over 1300 names on the tree, including over 340 descendants of my Great-Great-Grandfather John Alsop born 25th January 1825 in Hornchurch, Essex. With family as far afield as Australia (Hello Di, Hi Simon & Hi Donna), New Zealand (Hi Gillian), Germany-Spain (Hello Ann), Canada (Hello Vi, Linda, Barry & Albert) and of course England.

The earliest link I have so far is back to Robert Allsop born about 1756 (probably) in Essex. Robert married Mary Blatch on January 10th 1780 at All Saints Church, Doddinghurst, Essex. Banns were read at her Parish, Doddinghurst also at his Parish, South Weald.

Other family names I am interested in include, Pitts, Morgan, Blatch, Overhead, Saggers, Perfect, Cartwright and Lewis, located in either Essex Kent or S.E. London, Plumstead & Woolwich.

  My GGGrandfather John Alsop, (b. 25th Jan 1825 in Hornchurch), married Mary Anne Browne (b.1827 in Shenfield), on 11th July 1847 at St. Peters Church. I believe all 13 of their children were christened here. When he was a child my GGrandfather William Ernest Allsopp (b. 17th Aug 1872), used to pump the organ in this church.
