I became interested in genealogy after completing a school homework assignment (many years ago). I started my research by asking family members questions, and then planned travels to neighboring communities, counties, states, etc. to view original documents whenever possible, and getting copies of them.

My interest in genealogy has waxed and waned over the years, and only "sparked" back to life after the development of on-line resources (particularly census records). Also, by using on-line communication, I have found distant relatives who are working on some of the same family tree branches that I am, and our exchange of information has been fun and rewarding.
