Came to OH in 1837 and was a Farmer in Miami Twp., Montgomery Co. He died after retiring to Miamisburg. They were members of the First Reformed (German) Reformed Church and was an Elder 40 years or more. He was also listed as a weaver. His age at death listed on his tombstone; 88y 3m 9d. Henry and Mary had 14 children and 10 lived to adulthood.

In 1856, they purchased a farm of 87 acres NE of Dayton in Butler Twp. Montgomery County, OH. He retired and sold the farm in 1883 and bought a home in Chambersburg, OH. He was one of the charter members of St. John's Lutheran Church in Vandalia, OH. He was a deacon and elder in the church.
