A while ago I built up a database of nearly 3000 names of people related to the Orrahood/Arahood/Arihood familes. Then I lost it all when my computer died. I had some published on the web and some things on paper, but recreating that in the computer seemed to be too much for me, so I took some time off.
It's several years later now and I'm about to start a family of my own...
***NEWSFLASH*** The family has been started! On May 18, 2006 a beautiful baby girl was born. Her name is Sara Marie. You can find a picture of her in the "Family Photos" section.
...Again I realize the importance of family and preserving it for future generations, now including my own. So, I'm getting back into the swing of it. Rebuilding, retyping, rescanning, rephotographing, remedicating (aspirin, for the sore fingers and strained eyes)...
My focus is on the descendants of Alexander Orrahud, (born in Scotland and died sometime around 1800) and his wife Ethanel.
Other related families that will occupy my attention are Kynaston, Mahsem, Riegel, Sullenger, Vibber, and Zabriske.
If you would like to contact me you can email me at gregory@arihood.com and put something in BIG BOLD WORDS like "GENEALOGY" in the subject line. I get so much junk mail that if it doesn't say "GENEALOGY" it might accidentally get dumped.
My current online projects are forums dedicated to the related families and also a wiki (similar to www.wikipedia.org) dedicated to the members of our big family. I'm very excited about both of these. I encourage you to participate in these projects, or drop by for a look. The address is in the links section below. I'm also recreating my "Genealogy Resources Center" website from over ten years ago. It's basically pages of categorized links, but this time around YOU will be able to add and maintain the links.
