Flora May Smith was born 24 Nov 1883 in St Vivien Street, Hereford City, Hereford, and died 28 Oct 1970. She married Arthur Jones, son of Edward Jones and Anne Green.
Notes for Flora May Smith: When we moved to 42 Southbourne Crescent "auntie Florrie" came with us. It was a large house with a front and back room which could be divided by a concertina type glass door. My dad boarded it up and Florrie had the front room as her own. She had her hair done in a tight bun and wore glasses and was slim as I remember. She had these really huge black boots (like a type of doctor marten boot is now), to support her ankles, they were huge. She had a commode and fold down bed, very rarely coming out of the room. Apparently I used to drive her mad by undoing her bootlaces and tying the two different boots together when she was asleep and the cry of "Kath, get this bloody pest (or horrible child), out of here" rang out quite often. She always read the daily express and used to let me cut out the "Rupert the bear" stories that were serialised. On my birthday she always bought me a Rupert Annual. I will not be tracing any of her family.
