Ruby L. Sheehan - Hannibal
Nov. 7, 1910 - March 26, 2000

Hannibal - Ruby L. Sheehan, 89, of Hannibal, died March 26, 2000, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 30, at Grand View Funeral Chapel in Hannibal. The Rev. Tom Day will officiate. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 31, at Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago, Ill.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at the funeral chapel.

Mrs. Sheehan was born Nov. 7, 1910, in Palmyra to William and Sarah Collions Haydon.

She was married to Robert J. Sheehan in June 1947. He preceded her in death in May 1956.

Survivors include one son, Tom Sheehan of Houston, Texas; one sister, Josephine Straub of Monroe City; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, William A. Haydon, James R. Haydon and Carl Haydon; and one sister, Ruth Shinn.

Mrs. Sheehan was a quality control inspector at Abbott Laboratories for more than 20 years. She was an active member of the Oakwood Christian Church and Christian Women's Fellowship, a past presidetn of Willing workers Class and started the fund-raising drive for the furbishing of the Oakwood Church.

Memorials may be made to the Oakwood Christian Church.

Pallbearers will be Howard Smith II, Bob Sheehan, Bill Sheehan, Bill Dunker, Larry Dexter and Garry Haydon.

Robert J. Sheehan was a public service worker in the field of electicity, and was a veteran of World War II. He attended the Methodist church.

Carl B. Haydon, 80, of Hannibal, died at 2:29 a.m. March 22, 1999, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Haydon will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Church of the Nazarene. The Revs. Larry Rap and Bill Kirkemo will officiate. Burial will be at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.

Mr. Haydon was born Dec. 7, 1918, in Ralls County to William A. and Minta Collins Haydon.

He was married to Opal Brammer on Nov. 25, 1936, in Bevier. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Gary Haydon of St. Peters; two sisters, Josephine Straub of West Ely and Ruby Sheehan of Hannibal; two grandchildren, Stephanie Batsel and Chris Haydon; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Haydon and Alfred Haydon; and one sister, Ruby Shinn.

Mr. Haydon was a dairy farmer for many years and was a member of the American Dairy Association and the Farm Bureau. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene where he was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the men's Bible class and the church board for many years.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Grand View Funeral Home and from noon until time of services Wednesday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Chris Haydon, Gary Haydon, Bruce Rose, Jack McLeod, Terry Conn and Jim Thornton Sr.


Carl Haydon was also a veteran of World War II.
