Notes for MIA K. ADKINS:
Mia K. Adkins Fleegel has a degree in Social Work. She was born in Aurora, Illinois, and grew up Quincy, Illinios, and Champaign/Urbana, Illinois. She lived in New York, and Prairie Village, Kansas, prior to moving to Skaneateles, New York, in about 1988. She is a member of the Methodist Church. Mia has done family research since she was very young and is a very meticulous researcher.

While the Fleegels lived in Prairie Village, Kansas, they attended Old Mission United Methodist Church, where both were active. Mia extended her social work skills into the chuch ministry by assisting with the church's adoption of five Cuban refugees. She helped them find housing and employment, and organized efforts by the church to provide them clothing and other assistance.

Mia was also part of Konania, a liturgical dance group which performed at the church and at other churches and events througout the Kansas City area. She was a charter member of Prairie Rose Chapter, DAR until she moved to New York, when she transferred her membership to a chapter there.

In 2000, Mia completed her master's degree in Library Science at Syracuse University and works as librarian in a Syracuse high school.
