From the obituary and funeral information sent by Bill's wife at his death comes information that Bill taught in public schools for 38 years and also taught music lessons for many years. He served three years inthe U. S. Air Corps from 1943 to 1946, and taught a college class of music appreciation for 20 years.

Bill earned Eagle Scout rank and was very active in Boy Scouts in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and Carlsbad, New Mexico.

He lived in Carlsbad since August 1946, and was a popular entertainer, singing and playing accordian. He sang in several quartets through the years and enjoyed barbershop quartets.

Bill was cremated and ashed interned at Sunset Memorial Park in Carlsbad. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he was a choir member. He was also a member of BPOE Elks Lodge #1558 and Mudgett Post 7 or American Legion. His obituary appeared Sunday, 17 Oct 1999, in the "Current-Argus" newspaper in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
