He married NANCY ROBERSON 22 Apr 1840 in Knoxville, Knox Co, IL, daughter of JAMES ROBERSON and FRANCIS HUBBARD. She was born 12 Mar 1817 in Glasgow, Barren Co, KY, and died 24 Jun 1878 in Abingdon, Knox Co, IL.

Notes for JAMES D. BOYDSTUN:
According to World Family Tree Vol. 13, Pedigree #3039, James D. Boydstun was born in Logan County, Kentucky. This same source lists the death date as 2 Sep 1901.

It is apparently his heirs who placed the fine stone for Benjamin and Mary Gardner Boydstun, as James D. and Nancy Roberson Boydstun's birth and deaths are inscribed on the other two sides of the obelisk. Again, it is a fine stone, and the dates are very clear. James D. Boydstun's death date is engraved 1891.

She married HENRY GROUND 23 Apr 1840 in Knox Co, IL, son of ROBERT GROUND and RHODA LONG. He was born 30 May 1804 in Mercer Co, KY, and died 03 Mar 1881 in Knox Co, IL; lived 2 miles west of Abington, IL.

Notes for HENRY GROUND:
The tombstone of Henry and Eliza Ground, as well as their infant son and that of Sarah M. are constructed of white marble and were found in 1984 to be in good condition. The parents' stone is an obelisk with an urn on top, while those of the children are of the upright slab variety. The stones of the children have begun to sink into the ground, nearly obliterating the death information.

Henry and Eliza can be found with their family in the U.S. Census of Knox County Illinois in 1850, 1860 and 1870.

Dorothy (Boydston) Maylor, who provides birthdate of Mary Ann Green(e).

Wayne Boydston, who provides 7th son of William and Mary Ann Boydston: August Boydston. There is nothing on the Census to list this child, but it is possible that it is John G. Boydston b. about 1869 (the G being perhaps "Gus").

Ruth Walton says that she does not know the relationship of the Boydston children and the Stallards to Mary or Jacob Boydston. Living in household #1766 are Randolph Stallard age 56 b. VA; Margaret age 32 b. VA; Wiley age 16 b. MO, and James, age 14 b. MO.

Wayne Boydston lists August Boydston as the 7th son of William Boydston and Mary Ann Green, b. 1869. However, Census does not support this unless John is also named August.

In William Boydston's obituary (brother of John Gustairs/August), it says that he is survived by two brothers, Ben of Platte City, and August of Fairland, OK. This information given by Susan Boydston (susanb@cysource.com) in March, 2000.
