William Evans paytoe was the governor of the Radnor Gaol from 1828-1844, he also was a champion pugalist and fought under the name Young Broom . William took over as Governor from his uncle also William Evans Paytoe . his son Thomas then took over from him in 1844 but resigned in disgrace in 1847.
