Rebecca B. Todd (daughter of Simon Todd and Margaret (Todd))180 was born 09 Sep 1828 in Philadelphia, PA, and died 18 Jun 1918 in Ulster, Bradford County, PA. She married Jacob Fiester on 28 Feb 1854, son of Jacob Fiester and Mary Robb.

The following is taken from the Sumner (Iowa) Gazette of June 27,1918:

In Memorium: Rebecca B. Fiester, widow of the late Jacob Fiester anddaughter of Simon and Margaret Todd, was born i Philadelphia, Pa.,September 9, 1828 and died on the 18th of June, 1918, and thereforereached the ripe age of 89 years, 9 months, and 9 days.

She was the sister of the late Stephen T. Todd, and a sister of SarahAnn Fuller, wife of the late M.A. Fuller by his first marriage.

On February 28, 1854, she became the wife of Jacob Fiester by hissecond marriage he having been previously marrited to MargaretRussell, who died November 3, 1849, leaving two sons, James G.Fiester, who is a resident of this place, and Rolland B. Fiester, whois a resident of Independence, Iowa. As their step-mother, she, thesecond wife, had the bringing up of these two sons, as well as that ofher own son, S.F.Fiester, and her two daughters, Frances V. Fiesterand Sarah Ann May Fiester, all of whom survive her.

Thought for about thirty-three years she has resided in the east yetshe and her husband and children were along the pioneers of Iowa,having settled in Dayton township, Bremer County, Iowa, in the springof 1872, where they swelt for nearly twelve years, helping to make thetreeless prairie into a home sheltered by pines larches, box eldersand maples, which still bear tribute to her memory, for it is wellknown that she helped select the trees from the old Sherman nurseryand also helped to replant the same, feeling it a privilege, onaccount of lack of means to hire, to help both in the garden and inthe field.

In the fall of 1883 she and her husband and daughter May returned tothe East to live in the home of her daughter Frances in Barton, NewYork, and seven years later they all moved to a new home in theSheshequin valley on the banks of the Susquehenna near Ulster,Bradford County, Pa., where she resided up to the time of her death.She was the sole survivor of her generation, she having been thesecond child in a family of eight.

In her youth she became a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church andwas a paying and a praying member for over sixty years. She showedher faith by her works, and her days were long in the land which theLord God gave her. Interment was made in the Horn Brook Cemetery nearTowenda, Pa., along side of her husband, who died April 16, 1896, atthe age of 78 years.
