Corning Democrat, September 15, 1870:
" DEATH OF ALMON BEECHER, ESQ. - We are required to perform themournful duty of announcing to our readers the death of Almon Beecher,Esq.- He died at his residence in Beaver Dam, in this County onSaturday last the 3rd, from Dropsy of the heart, having reached theage of 64 years and one day. Mr. Beecher was one of our oldest andbest citizens, having spent thirty or more years of his life in thisimmediate vicinity, and many in and out of this county will join insincere sorrow at his death."

Watkins Express, September 8, 1870:
" Mr. Beecher was one of the oldest and best known citizens of thearea, having spent 30 or more years of his life in the immediatevicinity. He was born in the state of Vermont and we believe residedthere in early life; but as many as 30 years ago we knew of hisresiding at Rhodesport; whence he soon removed to the village ofHavana and from there to Beaver Dams where with steady, honorableindustry as a farmer he thereafter procured for himself and family acomfortable living...At the time of his death and for at least a yearbefore, he held the position of Crier of the Court for this County."
