Dr. Drinkhouse in Washington The Washington correspondent of the Philadelphia Home Journal furnishes the following: On last Sabbath morning, Rev. Dr. Drinkhouse, pastor of 9th street M. P. Church, delivered an able and eloquent discourse from the 23d Psalm, on the occasion of the decease of the Rev. Ulysses Ward. It was not in the usual style of a funeral sermon, but abounded in beautiful descriptions of the privileges, advantages, enjoyment, and prospects of a faithful servant of God-of his triumphant life and death-and of his glorious immortality :--all of which was applied to Bro. Ward. In the Church, in the social circle, in the benevolent associations of the day, and the business enterprises with which he was connected, his place cannot soon be filled.
