I've changed the page title because I am finally making some progress in tracing Mom's side of the family with the help of Shirley Houk, Betty Gildow and Allen Richmond. They have been able to track down some things that I haven't been able to find.
Johnson County, Kentucky has a lot of Genealogy Home pages which made my reasearch much easier on that side. So far I haven't found much to help with the southern Ohio branches.
As I have time I will be adding some old photos that are in an album that used to belong to my Aunt Cora. They are some of my mom's ancestors from (most likely) southern Ohio origionally. Grandpa Daniel Baker Whaley was born in Cove, Jackson Co., Ohio. Grandma Anna Belle McKinney was born in Omega, Pike Co., Ohio. They raised their family in Waverly, Pike Co., Ohio.
Daniel's parents were George Whaley and Lydia Keller. Anna Belle's parents were George McKinney and Emma Sedekum. I now have Whaley's back as far as the Revolutionary War. My Great-great-great Grandfather, George Whaley served in the Continental Army from Nov. 15, 1776 to Nov. 15, 1779. His pension file was found in the National Archives. Some of the people in the photos moved to the west of Ohio. Some of the photos were taken in Chillicothe, OH; Kingston, OH; and somewhere in either Indiana or Illinois (I'm not sure which and my sister has the album in Michigan).
