Heinrich Carl Wilhelm (Henry) Bode and Maria Wilhelmina Friedrich are Tim Bode's great grandparents. They were married July 18, 1900. Henry was the son of Ludwig "Louis" and Maria (Stolt) Bode, and Maria was the daughter of Rev. Karl Wilhelm "William" and Wilhelmina "Minna" (Kahler) Friedrich.

Michael Herrmann and Elizabeth Stermann are Tim Bode's great grandparents. They were married on August 25, 1892. Michael was the son of Johann Michael and Magdalena Barbara (Rapp) Herrmann, and Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry and Katharina (Heister) Stermann.

Tim Bode's great-great-great-grandparents. Friedrich and Maria immigrated from Empede, Germany, with their children. They settled in Monee Township, Will County, Illinois (south of Chicago).
- Michael and Barbara Herrmann (70 KB)
Johann Michael and Magdalena Barbara immigrated to the United States from Kuenzelsau, Wuerttemberg, Germany. They first settled in Wisconsin for a brief time, then farmed in Benton Township, Carver County, Minnesota. This photo was published with Barbara Herrmann's obituary on the front page of the Norwood Times on December 20, 1907. Michael served in the Union Army during the Civil War and was wounded in the Battle of Nashville on December 16, 1864.

Front row: Martin, LUDWIG/LOUIS, Arthur, Ida, MARIA, Christine. Ludwig "Louis" and Maria (Stolt) Bode are Tim Bode's great-great-grandparents. Ludwig immigrated with his parents, Friedrich and Maria (Stolt) Bode, from Empede, Hannover, Germany. After settling with them in Monee Township, Will County, Illinois (south of Chicago), he followed his brothers to Nicollet County, Minnesota, where he met and married Maria Stolt.

John and Margaret are Tim's great-great-grandparents who emigrated from Gluckstadt, Germany (near Hamburg), to Fargo, North Dakota. All 7 of their children also settled in Fargo.
- Rev. Karl Wilhelm Friedrich (34 KB)
Tim Bode's great-great-grandfather. Rev. Karl Wilhelm "William" Friedrich began his studies for the pastoral ministry in Germany. After he immigrated to America and completed his studies in St. Louis, Missouri, he was placed in a Lutheran congregation near Owatonna, Minnesota. While there he married Wilhelmina "Minna" Kahler from Macomb County, Michigan. In 1871 he accepted a call to serve as pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia, Carver County, Minnesota, where he served for 40 years.
- Marie Juknies (150 KB)
Marie Juknies was my great grandmother. She immigrated from East Prussia to Minnesota at age 16 in 1892 on the ship Normannia. After marrying my great grandfather, Henry Tietgens, she lived in Fargo, North Dakota for most of her life. She died in Dunn Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota, on April 27, 1940, at age 74.
