Florence Bauer (daughter of Fred Bauer and Eva Tujetsch) was born October 03, 1899, and died April 26, 1990. She married Art Donlon on June 22, 1927 in St Joseph's Catholic Church in Elkader, Iowa, son of John Francis Donlon and Katherine Faber.

St. Joseph's church was the scene of an elaborate June wedding on Wednesday, June the twenty-second when Miss Florence Bauer and Mr Arthur T. Donlon were married by the groom's uncle, Rev. Luke Donlon, pastor of St. Patrick's church, Monona.
The bridal party entered the church to the strains of Mendelsohn Wedding March played by Miss Margaret Donlon of Chicago, cousin of the groom, accompanied on the violin by Miss Helen M. Bauer, sister of the bride.
The bridal party was led by the ushers, Stephen E. Donlon, Jr., of Chicago, Ill., cousin of the groom, and Joseph Schiltz of Dubuque, cousin of the bride. They were followed by Mr. Arthur E. Hoover, groomsman and cousin of the groom. Next came the two bridesmaids Miss Miriam G. Bauer, and Miss Mary B. Donlon of Chicago. They wore vassar rose crepe dresses with scarfs of georgette crepe to match and pearl necklaces. Bandeaus of metal ribbon completed their costumes. They carried arm bouquets of pink roses and white snap-dragons tied with pink tulle.
Patrick Donlon, also of Chicago acted as ring-bearer. He carried the ring on a pillow trimmed with lace ribbon and lillies of the valley.
Little Catherine Donlon of Chicago followed him and acted as flower girl, carrying a basket of sweet peas and daisies. she wore pink georgette over white satin trimmed with tiny pink rose-buds.
The bride's attendant was Miss Ruth Donlon of Chicago. She wore an apricot crepe trimmed with rose-buds.
The bride was led to the altar on the arm of her father. She was charmingly attired in a gown of white satin cut with a court train and wore a magnificent veil imported from France, richly embroidered and trimmed with orange blossoms. The close fitting cap was held in place by orange blossoms. Orange blossoms also trimmed her satin slippers. The bride carried a shower bouquet of white roses and pink and white sweet peas.
The bride was met at the altar railing by the groom and the best man, his brother, Mr. Stephen G. Donlon. Both were dressed in dark blue suits and white boutonnieres. The bridal party proceeded to the foot of the altar where the ceremony was performed by Father Donlon.
During the ceremony Mr. Adolph Hanson rendered very beautifully "O Promise Me" and "Ave Maria."
Both bride and groom were born and raised in Elkader and both are graduates of the parochial and Elkader high school. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Bauer. She is a young woman of sterling qualities and marked capabilities and is held in high esteem by all her friends. The bride has been a teacher since her graduation from high school in 1923.
The groom is the younger son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Donlon. Since his graduation from high school in 1919 he has been engaged in farming. He Is a young man of fine character and gives promise of enjoying a successful future.
There were man out of town guests. Mr. and Mrs. Bauer served a sumptuous wedding dinner at their home for about one hundred guests. the blessing at the diner was invoked by Rev. J. P. Taken, their pastor.
The Register joins with the entire community in wishing the young couple every possible happiness.
