R. Boone, deceased ------------------- WGEREAS, D.R. BOONE, who for thirty years has served as a member of the School Board of the Lonoke Special School District, six years of which time he has served as President of the Board, departed this life on Saturday, June 9th, 1923, at six o'clock p. m.; and WHEREAS, at all times D. R. NOW THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Board of Directors of Lonoke Special School District: FIRST: That in the loss of D. R. Boone, as a member of the School Board, Lonoke Special School District has lost a faithful friend and devoted leader, a loss which cannot be replaced. SECOND: That we mourn his untimely departure from this Earth, but realize that Divine Providence has spoken and that human voice cannot add or detract when once that voice speaks, and that we must bow to that Divine Will. THIRD: That always frank in conversation, honest in business dealings, fair and liberal with his fellowmen, he labored for forty-two years in our midst, becoming a wise leader, a sagacious businessman and a devoted Christian. His services will be greatly missed in church, in the schools and in public affairs. FOURTH: Be it further resolved that we extend to the members of his family our heartfelt sympathy in their bereavement, and however the loss may seem great to them, it must be indeed consoling to them that he has been a useful, honest upright man and that his life has been well spent. FIFTH: Be it further resolved that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the Board of Lonoke Special School District, and a copy furnished to the members of the family. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, we hereunto set our hands and the seal of Lonoke Special School District, on this the 16th day of June 1923. Signed: Chas. Walls President W. W. McCrary Secretary Thos C. Trimble?
