2) Where was Samuel born? I doubt that it was really Bladen County.
3) When and where were Samuel and Ann married?
4) Was Ann the second wife of Samuel? It is possible.
5) When and where did Samuel die? I think it may have been earlier than
1795. Who has a source for the 1795 date?
6) Who were the parents of Samuel? I question whether his father was Joseph
Edward Bozeman.
7) Every Bozeman line has a gap between about 1700-1750. We all have a
missing generation. Why? Where are the records?

The keys to answering these questions are in Southampton County, Virginia
and/or Halifax County, North Carolina.

Your answers certainly make sense. There seems to be an entire lifetime of
records that we haven't found yet.

If this has already been posted, I'm sorry, however, I've just found the
following. Note the dates of 1718. If Samuel (Anne Richardson) was the
father of Luke, which we have every reason to believe is true, then there was
obviously a Samuel Bozman before him. My Samuel's father?

"NC Historical & Genealogical Register", January 1900, No 1
p. 627, Abstract of Conveyances:
Sam'l Bozman, to John Pursale; 10 April 1718. 275 acres land. Test, John
Welch, Robert Calf, Thos. Bray.
p. 629, Abstract of Conveyances:
Thomas Bray, to Sam'l Woodward. Assignment Patent for 613 acres joining on
land of John Robertson; 8th Sept. 1718. Test, Sam'l Bozman, Francis McLendon.

"NC Historical & Genealogical Register", Vol 2, No 1
p. 452, Abstract of Conveyances:
Ralph Bozman. Patent for 640 acres, adjoining lands of Capt. Thos. Bray.
Isaac Wilson, John Robins and Deborah Halsey, Mch. 9, 1717-18. Assigned by
Jessop to Jno. Halsey, Oct. 17, 1732. Test, Edward Mayo, Robt. Hicks

p. 144, Abstract of Conveyances:
Same to Francis Ellis; (note, I don't have previous page to refer to "same
to") Apl. 16, 1722. 490 acres on Indian Town Creed and Mossy Swamp,
patented for John Jackson and by him sold to Sam'l Bozman, and by Bozman to
John Arline, it being a releasee from Robert Hicks. Test, John Parker, John
Parker, Jr.

Note: Nowhere can I find where any of these lands are, so would appreciate
any input. I did find a reference in previous paragraphs about lands in
Nansemond and Perquimans.

Abstracts of Wills, 1690-1760, p. 414 (still vol. 2, no. 1)
WILLSON, ISAAC. Perquimans Precinct.
October 3,1724. December 29, 1724. Brothers: Robert and Benjamin Willson.
Nephews: Joseph Willson, Isaac Willson (plantation on Perquimans River
"where Capt. Pettiver now lives"). Niece: Rachel Willson. Other legatees:
Joseph and Thomas Elliott. Mother: Ann Pettiver. Uncle and Executor:
Ralph Bozman. Witnesses: Ruth Minge, Robert More, Elizabeth Flower. Proven
before Edware Moseley.
