In the Sketches of Bozeman, Mordecai born 1735 NC, and two of his sons,
Peter and John, served in the American Revolution, but James was too young. They
are listed online in the SC Archives...

Nothing further is found on Mordecai, unless a will is found. Peter moved
his family to Montgomery Alabama to a community now called Hope Hull in 1827,
where his son Jesse paid cash for 82 acres. Jesse's headstone there shows
he was born in 1793.

Peter's son William Henry Bozeman is my line through his son Peter Edward
Bozeman who served in the Civil War. Peter Edward married Nancy Jane Anderson
who filed for his pension. The Andersons and many other families of South
Carolina all settled in Montgomery and intermarried.

I find a John Bozeman, perhaps son of Mordecai, perhaps not, purchased land
in Mississippi in 1823

On _www.dar.org_ (http://www.dar.org/) there are very few Bozemans listed
and I hope to establish my line with them. Going back to the SC Archives page,
there are many Bozeman/Bozman/Boozman/Boseman/Boseman soldiers listed. My
line could not read nor write so it did not matter apparently how anyone
spelled it.

Happy Hunting!

Kathy
