Includes NotesNotes for Kate Mar Newton:
Her mother gave birth to her lying on her stomach as she had caught the back of her dress on fire standing in front of the fireplace and her backside was severly burned. Kate Mar (BaBa) died of a stroke in her sleep. She was well known for her beautiful flowers, her willingness to help others and her gentle nature. She was a member of the Linden Garden Club, BPW and Sewing Circle (though she could hardly sew a button on). The BPW had a special memorial for her. A copy of the Eulogy written by Pat Dixon will be attached. She raised two boys alone during the depression and had many different families and other's children who lived with her during these hard times. She was still lifting bales of hay to feed her cows the week before she died. A more remarkable woman never lived.
