John Sawyer is said to have lived at Gloucester and Cape Ann, Mass before
moving to Falmouth, Me in 1719. He settled in that portion that became Cape
Elizabeth. He was granted a ferry license on 1719. He was one of the
proprietors of the 1st Church of Falmouth.
He is buried on Meeting House Hill, South Portland Me
