just started family research july 2001. first goal is to map direct ancestors back to arrival in america, which was already done on brackett side by grandfather robert d. brackett jr. need to gather more information on ancestors siblings, ect that are not on family trees that i have in my posession. will try through this to locate as many living brackett relatives as possible, and figure out where they fit into my family tree. will consult with father, aunts, ect to find as much written info as possible that they may have and try to compile it into a history of our brackett family with updates on current living family and decendents of robert d. brackett, jr. would also like to locate info on relative ansel brackett who fought in the civil war at the battle of marianna, fl., and his apparent brother asa if possible. while they are not direct ancestors, i would be interested to know how and where they fit into the brackett tree. mystery of asa and ansel brackett family tree branch solved! (at least partially!) thanks to mrs. christopher c. dere of east wilton, maine. according to the info ansel and asa were decndents of anthony brackett "the immigrant". neither had any decendents. if anyone out there knows otherwise, please let me know.
