we welcome you to our pages and hope you enjoy it. we urge you to visit and keep contact with family. we grew up as one whole family, we had many disagreements, but i still feel even today, i can call on any one of my many family members for any reason, as they could also depend on me. however our children are or have grown up differently, we all have public jobs now instead of farms, so our time is not laid back like the farm was, we have to schedule visits, and we just don't have time to just sit and talk like old times, one day i plan to just take time from our 6 day workweek and just visit each one of you.

ann and me paint, and do the woodwork (trim, windows, base, etc) and the ceramic tile in most of the homes we do, we work all the time, but we love to work so that is good.

julie is now in chicago in her new home, she is to be married on april 5, 2005..we will miss her, but we have cell phones which helps to stay close anyway, her and dan will be home for Christmas, maybe some of you can stop by and see them.....

  mother is also an artist and has a lot of natural talent, i love her work, this one is cape hatteras light house in north carolina, it is painted on paper and it was too large for my scanner so you are not seeing the whole picture. she has painted probably 50 pictures, she has one in california and one in arkansas and one in virginia and several in north carolina. she will sell her work on paper size about 11x14 for around $25.00 ea and just does that to keep in supplies, if you like it contact me and i will give you her phone number.

  this was my first real race car, i built it for dorsey speedway in dorsey, maryland in 1970, never did much, but learned a lot.

  this is a photo i took(2) while getting a glider off the ground, a glider is different from flying a plane, that it has to be towed up to altitude and flie different, the hardest part is getting up without crashing the tow plane, once up, you soar just like an eagle, the only power is lift from heat, you can stay up forever if you know how, i have gone upward at rates of 200 ft per minute nad more, you can sit and talk, because there is no noise like a plane, just a slight wind noise, you fly it by a string attached to the pitot tube, if its flying you are, if it falls limp, you fall (stall) and you must recover of else be on the 6 o'clock news, i always recovered sp far

  aunt susie, she was daddy's sister and married eddie ball and he died soon after her two daughters were born edna and lib. she moved in with kemp her brother and worked on the farm and got a public job with southern cleaners in jacksonville, nc and moved out on her own, i really commend aunt susie, even though she passed with cancer, for her true value for the family, not only hers but all, and she raised her children and has grandchildren and great grandchildren now, she worked hard and shared it with her children, a very respectable lady, i was very close to her, in later years she married guy williams and he also passed away before her, more later on her.

  ann raced a few different karts and would have been a pretty good racer, but i did not want her hurt so i held her back, she built her own engines and sold them also, we at present 3/11/01, are about to sell out our complete racing gear, we have 3 karts and tons of parts, we have one kart custom built by howie and painted custom paint by kenny davis only three races on the chassis, you will see a photo of it here soon

  we just competed the interior paint job on this home near wallace, for some really nice people, mark jones was the contractor, this is his truck and trailer, he usually is building new homes, but sometimes he will take on a remodel, we have painted for mark since he started his own business of building new homes, etc.

  these are some of daddy's sister, aunt ida mae, married to adkin simpson ( a very unique character i will get to later) they had i believe 12 children. the outstanding thing all people remember was one was being burried and the other died so all these children lost their parents the same week, very sad, but these children all rose up and with a christian background and commitment, they have did very well, i love them very much, but never see them, the last few, i don't know like from donnie to the older ones i know very well and grew up with them, later i will share memories of each.

  richard was a racing man, like myself, and he and i used to go everywhere together to see races, martinsville, richmond, manassas, dorsey, where i raced figure 8, and many other tracks, i always drove very fast i meam over 120 as much as possible and richard would be my lookout, not for police, but for cars in the way, i always knew when we were about tohit something, because he had the loudest scream and would go to the floor right afterwards, so i always turned the car one way or the other tomiss something and sure enough we would pass someone sitting in the road turning or some stupid thing like that, i would wave to them as i jumped a ditch or something to miss them.

  in 1971 i got hurt in a race car at virginia raceway and i had a new javelin so the track owner, bill lowery, invited me to be the pace car driver and he paid for the lettering on the car, so i paced races for him for 71 and 72 and helped as track official and got maryland racers to come down to virginia raceway.

  bobby simpson, a hard working man (body shop) i know i did it for two years when my back was too bad to climb and paint homes so i painted cars for those two years, bobby is a preacher and a worker, he and his brothers and sisters all are pretty much christians, they know the truth about spiritual things and most of them will tell you. i will share more later on the simpsons.

  this is frank brinson, son of buren brinson, frank has a brother and two sisters, more later. this other nice looking young man is james simpson, son of ida mae and adkin simpson, james used to have a really nice red dodge or plymouth pushbutton, he took me for one ride! he like his dad only got to scare me once a piece. james's has a daughter married a person that has some connection with nascar, the big boys winston cup? i don't know the details but some of you let me know and i will put the facts on this page, hey i was a nascar driver local in virginia, langley field, james always said someone had to bring up the rear, he used to work on a front running stock car and he used to tease me about the rear racers, i was definetly a rear racer if i could keep in from turning over and out of the park altogether, most of time i was upside down before the race was over.more later on this story.

  this shows julie when she was two weeks old, the photo where she is so red and, you could see through her flesh at first, the bones etc, were very clear, but as time went on she developed into a very pretty baby, she was estimated at 1lb 6oz at birth, her first weighed weight was 1lb 12 oz and that is what the newspaper went by, her foot print ont he birth certificate as you will see later when it is added was 1 and 1/4 inches long and her total length was 13 inches.

  this is aunt irene and elsie, david jarman's wife and daughter, aunt irene has always had a special place in my heart and i taught elsie her first steps. one thing stands out about elsie was the time she was with us and we were playing near a roadway when they stayed at the lake near clayton. we ran down a steep cement slab near the highway and elsie tried to do it too and fell and stuck a cut bush into her eye very deep and very bad, she was bleeding bad and i carried her to the house hoping she wouldn't die. she was lucky, she came away with a scar. the wound was just beside her eyeball through her eyelid.

  this is pa, everyone called him pa. he is the one we all blame for starting it all, even though he had ancestors too, we still think of him as our roots, pa was a unique character, he took time to write me and i guess all of his offspring, toinvite them to various events or to say hey, he loved attention from good looking women, so that is where i got it from! pa fed many a hungry person, he and ma anna had the best bisquits, you could come by the kitchen and get a few bisquits, stick your finger in them and pour molassas in them and on your way exploring, you had a meal fit for a king. there would be at least 50 people over there on sunday eating, playing ball, etc

  julie ann in the 12 grade and the other one she was small, another truck, and roger humphrey and his son beside my pace car at my home in maryland, germantown, lot d-15, our new moon of which we had julie and raised her there, a note about roger humphrey and the pace car, Roger was working with me on the side, i believe painting for uncle bull one saturaday and roger wanted to see what it was like to be in a race car, so i told him to tighten the seat belts and we started down a very crooked road and to shorten the story we hit some water going wide open around a sharp curve and we went backwards up a hill and through the woods, scared him to death! sorry roger, one more thing sith roger and the pace car, he and i went for pizza one night down to rockville and we were at a redlight and two montgomery county police were behind me and i started burning rubber like crazy and the chase was on, we ran those police through rockville over 100 mph and finally hit the 4 lane and up to 125mph and they were history, ask roger if he would like to go for pizza again?
