My family research started about 1986, when I located my youngest brother. I have researched my natural name Watson on my real father's side of the family and Houghtaling, Reynolds on my real mothers side of the family. I discovered while researching my Watson side of the family that I had a great aunt that was hung in Wyoming in 1889. Her name was Ellen Watson alias "Cattle Kate" We had a family reunion on the site of her homestead in Wyoming on the exact date, 100 years later. July 20, 1989. We have had successful family reunions, every two years after that. I have researched my great grandmother Frances Close's side of the family also. She came from Ireland, where my great grandfather Thomas Watson, France's husband came from Scotland.
I have my natural mother's parents Merton & Sylvia (Reynolds)Houghtaling traced back to living in New York. Merton born in Mercer Co., Missouri, and Sylvia born in Jewell County, Ks, but their parents came from New York.
