6. James³ Edwards , Jr (James², Robert¹) was born Abt. 1707 in Northumberland County, and died Abt. 1743. He married Allimor Allbridgeton Unknown.

Notes for James Edwards , Jr:
James Edwards, Jr. is thought to have been born in Northumberland County but since the Country was very large at that time, the particular part is not known.

He is first found definitely in Isle of Wight Country where about 1740 he had a plantation. After his death, the family moved further south and in 1790, four of his sons, James III, Nathan, David and John were living in Bertio County, North Caroline.

James Edwards, Jr.'s will is dated Apr 5, 1743 and is registered for probate on May 23, 1743. It is found in Will Book 2, page 464 in the Isle of Wright County, Virginia records.

His wife is mentioned, but not named, in the will but on the following page of Book 2, an inventory of his estate is shown and signed by his wife, Allinor Edwards.

James had two close friends at the time of his death, William Pope and Nathan Godwin and to whom he left legacies. They could have been relatives of some degree. It is presumed that he named his son Nathan for this friend, Nathan Godwin.

No will has been found for Jonas Edwards, but in the settlement of William's estate, he leaves land to his son James which borders on that of Jonas Edwards.

David lived for a time in Edeombo County, North Carolina and then moved west and in 1800 is mentioned frequently in the records of Ashe County where many of the family lived.

No will has been found for Jonas Edwards, but in the settlement of William's estate, he leaves land to his son James which borders on that of Jonas Edwards.

8. Robert³ Edwards (James², Robert¹) was born 1712, and died 1762. He married Ann Conway Jun 10, 1729.

Notes for Robert Edwards:
According to his will, Robert resided in Newport Parish, Isle of Wight County, at the time of his death. His wife is not mentioned and is presumed to be dead at the time the will was drawn. In addition to his children, he left legacies to his cousins, William and Henry Edwards. His will is dated March 30, 1762 and was filed for probate on July 1, 1762. His son, Solomon Edwards, was the executor of the estate. The will is filed in Vol III, page 174. Robert and Ann were married in Lancaster County.

9. Joshua³ Edwards (James², Robert¹) was born 1715, and died Jan 1, 1743/44. He married Sary Unknown.

Notes for Joshua Edwards:
Joshua Edwards lived in Isle of Wight County at the time of his death. He like others of the family was a plantation owner and tobacco grower. He provided that on the death of Benjamin, his bequest was to go to Benjamin's daughter Frances; when Hozokiah died, his bequest was to go to Hozokiah's son Ethelrod, with revision of bequests to his sister Mary.

Witness to the will were Joshua Jenkins, his nephew Solomon Edwards son of Robert Edwards, and his nephew James Edwards son of James Edwards, Jr.

Joshu's son, Jacob Edwards, was the executor. The will is dated January 1, 1774 and recorded on Feb 3, 1774 in Vol III, p. 66 in Isle of Wight County.
