From "Our French-Canadian Ancestors by Thomas J LaForest, Vol 14. Page 143,144.

Pierre Roy, - husband of Catherine Dicharme soince 12 January 1672, the father of seven children and the former servant of Jacques Leber, contracted "an inflammation of the heart" in 1683. He was living on the Ile Jesus where he met a 23 year old married woman, one Marie-Barbe Theodore dit Masson. She caused his temperature to rise due to his, not her amourous urges. This woman, as virtuous as she was beautiful, resisted without surrendering to his untimely pursuit. The unfortunate husband was desperate, and on 20 June, after the Sunday Mass at Lacenaie, stated before the assembly that he would kill "the said Plaintiff with a gun".

Pierre Roy was dragged before the court. The judge, Migeon de Branssat, questioned the lovesick man for four days. It was then that Roy, wounded in his pride, stated that he had obtained favors from Marie-Therese Hunault, wife of Guillaume Leclerc; from Elisabeth and Anne Charbonneau; from Marie-Anne Goguet, wife of Jean Groust; and from Catherine Lotier, wife of Mathurin Jousset. The whole distasteful affair created a lot of trouble and dismayed the denounced wives. At the end of the summer, the judical powers ended by calming the delusioned love-sick man. The scurrilously attacked homes were more united because of it, it seems, particularly the home of Guilliame Labelle.
