Who Are We? The Swiger Run Library is a non-profit public library, located on State Route No. 23 in Doddridge County West Virginia. Our goal is to preserve the history of this portion of the old Commonwealth of Virginia, now West Virginia and the surrounding areas of Ohio, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
The Swiger Run Library strives to preserve the history of various families and communities by compiling oral and pictoral histories, as well as educating our children. The library has thousands of old black and white photos, several family histories compiled by Ann Mish and others, as well as maps, a wonderful museum and much much more.
Membership to the Swiger Run Library is open to the public. The annual membership dues are only $10.00. This membership provides an unlimited amount of history resources as well as newsletters. A form will be provided that can be completed and mailed to the library to get your membership to the past!
Please visit our listing of publications that we have for sale. Most of our family histories include copies of donated photos, census documents, wills, obituatires and the sort. Any donations of histories, stories, or photos and the sort to the library is greatly appreciated and welcomed.
