1. GEORGE ELMORE¹ NANCE¹ was born 1801 in Kentucky, and died May 16, 1880 in Lawrence county, Missouri. He married (1) LUCINDA UMN WIFE OF GEORGE E. NANCE. She died July 26, 1837. He married (2) ELIZA WEBB July 10, 1839 in probably in Saline or Carroll county Missouri. She was born 1822, and died 1870.

Notes for GEORGE ELMORE NANCE:
George Elmore Nance was born in Kentucky. He was the father of 21 children, 8 by his first wife and 13 by his second. He moved to Missouri in 1832 and then to Lawrence county Missouri in 1866.
George was not liisted in the 1830 Kentucky or Indiana census index, but apparently the children of his first marriage were born in Kentucky. Lucinda died 7/6/1837, 3 weeks after their youngest daughter, Mary, was born in Indiana. George married Eliza Webb on 7/10/1839, probably in Saline or Carroll county Missouri. They were in Saline county, Missouri in 1840. Most of their children were born in Carroll county where they lived in 1850 and 1860. About 1866 George and Eliza moved to Lawrence County Missouri. They are on the 1870 Lawrence county Missouri census. George is found on the 1880 Lawrence county Missouri mortality schedule, dying of a congestive chill on 5/16/1880. At the present time it is not known where George and Eliza are buried- probably on the family farm in Lawrence county Missouri.
