From The Beginning, is a collection of research about the Case and allied families of Western North Carolina. The counties included in this research are: Buncombe, Henderson, Haywood, Polk, Rutherford and Transylvania. We also have some research from: Greenville, and Spartanburg Counties of South Carolina.

    Lewis was the son of Lewis Burgan Case, Sr. and Roxie Hollingsworth Case. He was killed in Salerno, Italy during WWII, in 1944.
  • Main Street, Downtown Hendersonville (29 KB)
    Some years ago, our downtown area was transformed. Town planners saw fit to change what had once been a four lane street, into a serpentine two lane. The days of dragging Main Street were all about to change! The kids still cruise up and down, but no more "dragging" up and down!

    Nora was the daughter of Alex Capps and Minerva McDowell Capps. Hilliard was the son of Larkin L. Tabor and Irene Caroline Guice Tabor.

    Thomas Masengale Tabor was the son of Jonathon Tabor and Elizabeth Hicks Tabor, b. July 18, 1812 - d. December 25, 1851. He is buried in the Jones Family Cemetery in the Upward area of Henderson Co., NC. Tombstone reads: Father Masengale Taber July 18, 1812 Dec. 25, 1851

    Thomas Laxton Case was the son of James Case, Sr. and his wife Jane Case, her maiden name is unknown to me. Thomas Laxton was born March 13, 1810 in Bent Creek, Buncombe Co., NC and died March 26, 1888 in Spring Creek, Madison Co., NC. He married Sarah Israel in 1835 in Buncombe Co., NC. She was the daughter of Michael Israel and Sarah Coffey. She was born March 27, 1814 in Buncombe Co., NC and died November 21, 1898 in Madison Co., NC.
