Descendants of Robert Hutchings

Generation No. 2

2. CHARLES2 HUTCHINGS (ROBERT1) was born 1750 in VA, and died Abt. 1793 in Petersburg, GA. He married MARTHA POLLY JONES GREENE 13 October 1779 in Brunswick County, VA.

Notes for C
HARLES HUTCHINGS:
Charles served in the Revolutionary War in the Virginia State Troops. In 1783 he received bounty land for this service and assigned the claim to Mr. John Kay. Shortly thereafter he purchased 210 acres of land in Wilkes County, Georgia. He later sold this land, apparently to finance a business as a cotton factor. He disappears from the records after 1793. His residence at that time, Petersburg, is a dead town, presently under the waters of Clark Lake. Neither his grave nor any record of his death has yet been found.

Notes for M
ARTHA POLLY JONES GREENE:
According to family tradition, Polly was a widow when she married Edward Hutchings. Following Edward's death she married a man named "Foson" and moved to south Georgia with him leaving her two sons in the care of a family named Hitchcock.

Children of C
HARLES HUTCHINGS and MARTHA GREENE are:
  i.   ROBERT3 HUTCHINGS, b. 1780.
3. ii.   EDWARD HUTCHINGS, b. 1782, Dinwiddie Co, VA; d. Aft. 1840, Hancock County, GA.
