4. DANIEL³ MUSE (MOURNING² STRICKLAND, DAVID¹) was born 1796 in Georgia, and died 24 November 1864 in Hancock County, GA. He married ELIZABETH WALLER 05 August 1819 in Hancock County, GA ¹¹. She was born 1798 in NC ¹², and died 04 June 1883 in Hancock County, GA ¹³.

Notes for DANIEL MUSE:
Pension File (War of 1812) containing Bounty Land Warrants for Daniel Muse and Pension application of widow Betsey Muse. Gives marriage info, Daniel's date of death (which is different from Family Bible) and states that they lived 1 year in Putnam County, Ga, 4 years in MS and resided in Hancock Co, GA since 1825. Daniel is described as being about 6 feet tall with dark hair and blue eyes.

As Daniel's uncle Robert Strickland was in Mississippi at this time, it may account for their move there after their marriage.

Notes for M.E.F. MUSE:
The Family Bible names her "Mourning E.F."; her father's will refers to her as "Minervy" and the 1870 census lists her name as "Mary".

	iv.		GILLIAN C. MUSE, b. 01 August 1828, Hancock County, GA¹³; d. 21 June 1910, Hancock County, GA ¹⁴; m. JAMES RUSSELL HUTCHINGS; b. Bet. 1820 - 1825, Hancock County, GA.

Notes for GILLIAN C. MUSE:
Known as "Ma Gill" to younger generations, she was said to have been a strong willed and formidable person.

JAMES C.D. MUSE¹⁵, b. 18 December 1830, Hancock County, GA ¹⁶; d. 23 July 1892¹⁶; m. ESTELLE E. HARPER, 10 December 1865, Hancock County, GA.

Notes for JAMES C.D. MUSE:
Roster of Confederate Soldiers of GA, 91, James C. Muse - Company 1, Turner Guards, Hancock Co, GA. Private, 7may 1862. Wounded 7 Oct 1864. Amputated finger. Surrendered Appomattox, VA 9 Apr 1865. Born18Dec 1830 in Georgia.

It is believed that James was a doctor. No known children at this time.

The marriage record says "Mrs." Estelle Harper - apparently a widow.

5. ROBERT JR.³ STRICKLAND (ROBERT², DAVID¹) was born 1810 in Mississippi, and died 1858 in Washington Parrish, LA. He married SUSAN.

Child of ROBERT STRICKLAND and SUSAN is:

SIMPSON MONROE⁴ STRICKLAND, b. August 1853, Louisianna; d. 23 November 1931, Amite County, MS; m. CATHERINE ELIZABETH GRAHAM.
