For years I have tried to find records of him as a doctor of some kind. My father, Kenith Dunn, was told by his paternal grandmother, Mary Cox, that John was a doctor. My father never met his grandfather as he died shortly before my father's birth.
I have found records of a John H. Dunn as a college student and even one as a doctor but nothing conclusive that he is the one I look for. On his son, Jesse (Jim) Dunn's, birth record John's profession is listed as doctor. John H. Dunn, head of household, husband of Mary Cox is found however in the 1900 Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory (Oklahoma) Census as a farmer who owned his own land.
