Lea, Dashner, Lafayette Families from Saginaw, Michigan

Updated August 17, 2005

About Our Family Research

These families are early settlers in Michigan. The Lafayette family (originally name was Lafeuillade, or [Javillion, Davignon dit Lafeuillade]) settled early Detroit and Quebec, c. 1690-1710.
The Dashner family may have been among the early settlers of New France in Canada. About 1820-1830 they moved to Oswego, NY and then about 1879-1880 they moved to Saginaw, Michigan.
The Lea (yes it is a German name) family came from Germany (Prussia, possibly Posen) and arrived in Saginaw in the 1850's to 1860's.
